Kari Yuers, FACI, is a recognized leader and sought-after speaker on corporate growth strategies, innovation management, corporate culture, and export development. She gained a wealth of experience in risk management and strategic global growth through building Kryton International from a Vancouver-based family operation into an international organization with offices and distribution in over 50 countries. In 2017, Kryton acquired Cementec Industries in Calgary, AB and, in 2019, partially acquired Sensohive Technologies ApS from Denmark, bringing on concrete monitoring technology.
Yuers and her company’s dedication to excellence has earned many awards and achievements: the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award, Pacific Region, Business to Business Category in 2003; Awards of Merit from Construction Specifications Canada in 2002 and 2004; Professional Achievement Award from the American Concrete Institute (ACI) in 2005; Appointment as Fellow of the American Concrete Institute (FACI) in 2010; CEO of one of BC’s Best Companies to Work For (2008–2012); Influential Woman in Business Award in 2012; and ACI Educational Committee Member of the Year Award (2014).

Kevin Yuers has been with Kryton for 25 years, holding senior positions in operations, research and development, sales and marketing, product management, and technical services. Today, his focus is product development and acquisitions. Kevin grew up in the construction industry and in the 10 years prior to joining Kryton, he owned and operated his own construction and renovation company. His 35+ years of industry experience allows Kevin to bring real-world solutions and value to Kryton’s many customers and associates spread around the globe. He is an active member of several industry and business associations and has traveled extensively throughout the world. He holds a BA degree from the University of British Columbia. Kevin is also the author of numerous articles and is the named inventor on patents related to the concrete industry.

Kryton International is a family-owned business founded more than 50 years ago by Ron Yuers in Vancouver, BC. As a pioneer of new technologies for building better concrete structures, Kryton became the inventor of the world’s first crystalline waterproofing admixture in 1980. That technology has changed the way concrete structures are built all over the world.
Since the 1990s, Yuers’ adult children have taken over management and reinforced the strong family values that define the company. Kryton’s employees and the extended Kryton family embrace values such as passion, integrity, and expertise. Today, Kryton has a fun and high-energy cultural vibe.
Numerous social events and recognition programs make working together enjoyable, and a standing reward for achieving annual targets is a trip to a Mexican resort for the entire company. This dedication to the people of Kryton has been led by company president and CEO Kari Yuers, who has always believed that “culture eats strategy for lunch every day”.
Although Kryton was a small organization in the early 2000s, Kari saw the need for a full-time human resources department and hired its first HR manager. Kryton went on to be recognized as an employer of choice, and starting in 2008, became one of “The 10 Best Companies to Work For in BC” for four years in a row – even through the worldwide financial crisis.
Kryton has grown into an organization that now distributes its products in more than 80 countries. It has employees across North America and around the world, but it maintains the family culture that has made it such a special place to work.
