With the shift to remote work and increased competition for skilled talent, employees value flexibility, compensation and wellness more than ever before.
“This is forcing businesses to rethink how they interact with, manage and engage their employees — especially as remote work has eroded workplace culture for many organizations, and limited opportunities to engage their employees,” says Sharon Bunce, chief of staff at HRdownloads, an HR technology provider.
Many employers are adopting new HR technologies — and HRdownloads is dedicated to being the most complete and connected HR solution in Canada. Its technology enables employers to store employee data as well as assign and report on HR tasks from one platform.
“We are the only HRIS that includes HR content for our clients created by experts — from jurisdiction- and industry-specific policies and legislative updates to online training courses for employees or leaders,” says Bunce.
On the support side, HRdownloads provides unlimited HR advice to help employers and HR navigate difficult HR situations and maintain compliance.
“Even before the pandemic, many companies were looking to upgrade legacy HR applications that cannot integrate with fresher solutions or move to newer cloud-based solutions. Since the pandemic, more workplaces than ever before are operating with distributed workforces and want to streamline, automate and find savings in their HR operations,” she says.
“Now, we have much more frequent recognition awards because we want to celebrate people staying at CAAT and recognize the contributions that they bring to the organization”

With significant turnover in some sectors and the move to more hybrid workplaces, the current pain point for many businesses right now is recruitment and onboarding, how to integrate new talent and make them productive.
HRdownloads has several services to support employers, such as an HRIS called HRdrive. The secure, cloud-based platform assigns, tracks, and manages the employee lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding and everything in between.
“With HRdrive, we’ve created an ecosystem where leaders can do such things as onboard new hires instantly, deploy a professionally designed employee engagement survey in seconds, or save time on a tedious HR task like drafting a policy, so our clients can instead spend their time on important HR initiatives like improving their workplace, recruiting and retaining top talent, or simply focus on growing their business,” says Neil Poutney, president of HRdownloads.
Also popular is the LMS offering. Available at a fixed price for unlimited assignments, it has more than 200 courses available, including interactive scenarios that humanize complex workplace concepts through e-learning categories such as health and safety, workplace wellness, leadership and professional skills.
Live HR Advice is another cornerstone of HRdownloads’ offerings, and the team of senior HR advisors has more than 140 years of combined HR experience, with a satisfaction rating of 98 per cent from clients.
“We pride ourselves on being a 100 per cent Canadian business that is 100 per cent about supporting other Canadian businesses,” says Bunce.
“Through this specialized focus, we can dedicate our technology, content and expertise to helping business owners and HR professionals from coast to coast thrive through workplace trends, changing legislative requirements, and evolving case law.”
