“Our reliance on technology for processes like onboarding or integrating systems from acquired companies highlights this. If the technological integration is delayed, employees’ assimilation into the company culture stalls, directly affecting their experience.”
Ouerdane also recognizes the challenges in capturing the workplace culture with virtual onboarding, mentioning, “My primary concern centres on the cultural onboarding of leaders – understanding a new environment and ecosystem, including its values, rhythm, pace, and the nuanced dos and don’ts.”
Although these subtleties, often absorbed through observation and interaction with colleagues in a physical office, are challenging to grasp in a remote setting, virtual onboarding tools have been instrumental in bridging this gap.
