“To truly optimize well-being, personalized data integration and insights are essential. People need personalized data to harmonize these aspects effectively and to empower them with the information necessary to live optimally”
Juggy Sihota,
TELUS Health
Preventive health uses tests, scans, innovative software, and comprehensive personalized assessments to help inform or predict future health issues in an effort to proactively ward off disease, helping people to live longer, healthier lives. That’s according to a 2020 medical study published in Neural
Computing and Applications, which found that harnessing data points from imaging, genomics, and bioanalytics has the potential to save millions of lives.
That study is backed up by a 2021 article in the Yale Journal of Biology and Medicine that said the ultimate goal of preventive medicine is to eradicate disease.
The Longevity package goes as far as creating a digital twin by aggregating the individual’s health data, highlighting personalized key health indicators, and recommending actionable lifestyle changes.
With these insights into the individual’s unique physiological makeup, health coaches at Precision Health can then tailor regimens and strategies to help optimize health outcomes.
“Businesses want productive team members. They need people to be at their optimal health mentally and physically in order to reduce absenteeism. So, if organizations can help their employees maintain a good level of health and well-being, everyone benefits. In the end, if employees feel good and their families are healthy, it’s a win, win, win. We have seen the evidence of this in our own organization through the innovative programs we offer to our TELUS team members,” said Sihota.
Precision Health is an innovative solution designed to help meet the growing demand in Canada for increased well-being health benefits, further propelling the advancement of personalized and preventive healthcare solutions that people are looking for.
“Shifting people’s mindset from treatment to prevention and helping them understand what they can do proactively to protect their own health is absolutely essential to building healthy populations,” added Sihota.
“This is a significant area of focus for TELUS Health, and Precision Health in Calgary is just the beginning.”

“People are becoming increasingly comfortable with watching what they are eating, how much they move, sleep, work, and even the people they keep in their social circles. Yet, to truly optimize well-being, personalized data integration and insights are essential. People need personalized data to harmonize these aspects effectively and to empower them with the information necessary to live optimally,” said Juggy Sihota, senior vice-president of Global Healthcare Services, TELUS Health, speaking to Canadian HR Reporter.
TELUS Health’s Precision Health service offers three tailored packages. These packages set up important baselines for individuals to build and improve upon and come combined with personalized insights and recommended actions.
The Longevity package is for those seeking advanced insights into their body’s current state through MRI imaging as well as predispositions through genetic testing. The Heart Health package is for those who need to prioritize cardiovascular health. And the third package, Performance, is intended for athletes or athletic individuals who want to enhance or optimize their overall performance levels and physique.
Each package enables longitudinal tracking to monitor an individual’s health changes over time. Consistent annual tracking progressively enriches each assessment, fostering a comprehensive picture of a patient’s health.
